How to Prepare for Your Year-end Review

The year end is fast approaching and with it comes performance review time.

Are you ready for your peformance review?

Beginning this week, I will publish "Career Insider" more frequently to give you in short spurts some handy tips to get you prepared for your performance review.

They can be daunting to many but if you plan well, get to know your company's performance review system, and how you can make the most of it then you are already on your path to success!

A good place to start this preparation is by reviewing the notes from your mid-year review if you had one. How did the review go with your manager? What feedback did you receive about what you did and how you went about doing it? What action items were you supposed to follow up on?

As you start this preparation, think about how you went during the entire year. If you had established goals or objectives at the start of 2007 now is the time to get them out and take a look. Tick off the ones you have completed and note down comments about how you think you did against each objective.

Next issue, I will share with you some tips to help you focus on what you want to achieve from your year-end review.

Performance Review eBook coming up - I wanted to let you know that I am in the final stages of putting together a handy collection of all the best performance review preparation tips. I will be releasing this shortly - and you will be the first to be notified.
