Have you set your 2008 goals?
We are into February already and a good time to quickly review your goals and see if you are on track. If you have not set yourself some goals then you still have time to do
that.
Reflect for a moment and ask yourself the following
questions:
-Are my goals inspirational?
-Do they focus on my priority areas?
-Will they help me become a better person?
-Will they enable me to get closer to where I want to be
long term?
If you have not already done so then evaluate all areas of
your life. Reflect on your gaps and where would
you like to be. Then use this knowledge to write down a few
goals.
Stretch and push yourself during this exercise. Dont set
run-of-the-mill goals.
Goal setting does not have to be complicated. Keep it simple
and that way you will be able to achieve them.

What to focus on your year-end review
As you start getting ready for your performance review think about what you want to get out from it?
Begin with the end in mind...as Stephen Covey would say it.
Do you want to get great feedback on how you performend during the year?
Do you want to know your strengths and areas of opportunities? Would you like to get advice from your manager on what you can do to improve yourself?
These are all very useful questions to reflect upon...and use the responses to be better prepared for the discussion.

Are you driving with a map?
It amazes me how often we set out on a journey without much regard for directions on how to get to the final destination.
Your career is similar to that. If you don't know where you want to go and who you want to be then how will find your way there?
Make sure you spend some time creating your map for your career journey.
Happy driving!!
